Only 16 cholera cases recorded in 24 hours

The ministry of health has only recorded 16 cholera cases the last 24 hours.

Health Minister Dr. Chitalu Chilufya  says the ministry has successfully treated and discharged  3573 cholera patients since the outbreak.

Dr. Chilufya indicates that the drop in the number of new cases is a clear indication that  the ministry is recording significance progress  in the fight against the epidemic through intensified health promotions, contact tracing and highly efficacious clinical care practices .

The Minister says despite the progress in the fight against the epidemic , his ministry will not stop inspecting both  public and trading places.

Meanwhile Dr. Chilufya has announced that the second oral cholera vaccine will commence on February 5th 2018, starting with Kanyama and Chawama.

The minister has since advised Kanyama and Chawama residents to report the designated cholera vaccination points.
