Lucky Mulusa Fired!

President Edgar Lungu has fired National Planning Minister Lucky Mulusa.

A statement made available to Alf News Blog by statehouse spokesperson Amos Chanda has indicated that the head of state has also revoked Mr. Mulusa's nomination as member of parliament.

 "His Excellency Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, President of the Republic of Zambia has terminated the services of Hon Lucky Mulusa as National Planning Minister and also revoked his nomination as Member of Parliament with immediate effect."

Circumstances leading to Mr. Mulusa's dismissal are  not clear, but Mr. Mulusa has recently mocked the ruling party for purchasing the 42 fire engines at  a total cost of 42 million USD.

 The former minister referred to the equipment at "wheelbarrows."
